Early Years / 11+ / 13+
Early years tuition is all about development. Our tutors are encouraged to use a child-centred approach to promote early years goals and skills, including reading, writing and speaking. Early years tutors work closely with parents to develop a plan that promotes learning in an interesting and non-pressured manner.
11+ is the first major examination a child will face and with increasing competition to gain entry to top London schools, it is incredibly important for a child to be prepared. Our tutors will prepare your child for examinations in Maths, English and Reasoning. Interview preparation can also be arranged if required. At this early stage we believe it is incredible important to make sure our students feel supported and not stressed by this process. Through our educational consultancy services we can offer advice on applying to schools.
13+ (Common Entrance) is the last major hurdle a child must pass in order to start their secondary education. Unlike the 11+ examinations, 13+ examinations cover a large range of subjects. The core subjects - English, Mathematics and Science - are compulsory. In addition, candidates can sit papers in a wide range of subjects chosen from French, Geography, German, Classical Greek, History, Latin, Religious Studies and Spanish. The core subjects, most modern languages, Latin and Classical Greek are offered at more than one level. The 13+ syllabus is rigorous and a high academic standard is expected by secondary schools. We also offer tuition to academically talented students sitting scholarship examinations.
